About Her
About me, in no particular order: I love my job. Even when I hate it, I still love it. But in recent years, I feel dreams of new beginnings and different paths swirling in my head. One day soon, I'm going to follow one of those swirling paths...
I would never go bungee jumping or fly out of a plane - I don't have that gene that makes one want to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro until my toe nails fall to the ground. All very noble pursuits-- but not my speed. I'm quite risk averse in that sense.
I"m an American and I'm a student of culture and how we humans build community. Everything is culture from Bingo nights in Ohio to turning bones in Madagascar. I've lived abroad for 15 years in Africa and Asia.
That brings me to my next point: I love passionately. I'm a devoted partner. But I also believe in independence. It seems to me that this balance is the most difficult to negotiate in any modern relationship.
Ah, I love poetry and good writing. I love anything spiritual and while I"m very proud of my Jewish identity, I love learning and experiencing other cultures and religions. I dabble in writing and art and hope to do more of both when my kids grow a bit.
I have two children. My greatest pleasure in life is the challenge to raise them with a sense of values, moral judgement and joy.
I love to cook and to eat. These days, I don't think that sets me apart much. I make a mean matzo ball soup.
Humility is a turn on. I love people who have pursued their dreams- no matter how big or how small. I love someone with passion for whatever it is he does.
My friends say that I'm a very giving person, perhaps to a fault. I'm a fiercely loyal friend. I could work on being more confident (no one here ever posts what they can work on- so there you are! For a more comprehensive list of my faults, please submit a letter to the management. )
